Jon Hales, what’s your background, what compelled you to start writing?
I've always been interested in literature and studied English at the University of Sussex, England. I'd been dabbling with writing on and off, but it was when I was living in Taiwan teaching English to kindergarten-age kids that I really saw the power of a well written and illustrated children's book.

The World's first long distance telephone call was made by Alexander Gram Bell to his assistant, Mr Watson, on February 12th 1877. The call was made from the Lyceum in Salem, USA to the Boston Globe newspaper, in Boston, USA.
The Apollo 14 mission, with a 3-man crew including Alan Shepard, Stuart Roosa, and Edgar Mitchell, launched from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, on January 31st 1971. It was the third mission to achieve lunar landing.
Because it's getting close to Christmas, I've been thinking about all my friends and relatives who live in England.
Although my great, great, great, great Grandparents moved from Australia to England a loooong, long time ago, we all still remember our Australian roots - even more so since me and my family moved to Melbourne.
