On this Day in History – 12th February 1877 – First Long Distance Telephone Call
The World's first long distance telephone call was made by Alexander Gram Bell to his assistant, Mr Watson, on February 12th 1877. The call was made from the Lyceum in Salem, USA to the Boston Globe newspaper, in Boston, USA.

On this Day in History – 5th February 1971 – Apollo 14 lands on the Moon
The Apollo 14 mission, with a 3-man crew including Alan Shepard, Stuart Roosa, and Edgar Mitchell, launched from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, on January 31st 1971. It was the third mission to achieve lunar landing.
