On this Day in History – 12th February 1877 – First Long Distance Telephone Call

The World's first long distance telephone call was made by Alexander Gram Bell to his assistant, Mr Watson, on February 12th 1877. The call was made from the Lyceum in Salem, USA to the Boston Globe newspaper, in Boston, USA.
